INDUSTRY INSIGHT: August 2024 Meet the Team at SEE Services: Stories from Our Staff

Carla, Testing Administrator in Compliance and Planned Maintenance


Q: What does a typical day look like for you?

A: Typically, I get to the office early to ensure I have my cup of tea! I start at 8:30 AM, running through my emails to prioritize tasks. Throughout the day, I submit compliance reports, assist clients with queries, and support engineers at various job sites. There’s always something to be done!


Q: What has been your personal highlight since joining SEE?

A: My highlight was being entrusted with full responsibility for a client, which boosted my confidence and made me feel valued. Over the years, this responsibility has grown, and I now have strong relationships with numerous clients.

David, Head of CDM and Operations


Q: Please provide an overview of your role.

A: My role involves oversight and commercial support for our FastTrack Fabric and Rail teams, covering projects from full area fit-outs to larger principle contracting projects. I also handle site-based health and safety matters, developing procedures and documents for the entire business.


Q: What have been your highlights since joining SEE?

A: My promotion to Head of CDM and Operations is a significant highlight, as it allowed me to contribute to the company’s growth. Completing NVQL6 and NVQL7 has also been rewarding, and I appreciate being part of such a great team.

Q: Can you tell us about your career?

A: I joined SEE a year ago as an EA. Previously, I worked at the Bank of England as a personal assistant, and I've also worked for the NHS and in private healthcare management.


Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SEE?

A: The people, without a doubt. I also love the variety in my role and having a significant input in our strategic marketing and sales activities. As a creative person, this adds a new dimension to my work.


Q: What has surprised you since you joined?

A: I was surprised by the extensive range of services SEE offers. I didn’t realize the crucial role facilities management plays in businesses, and I’ve enjoyed learning about everything from compliance certification to EV chargers.


Asta, HR Advisor


Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SEE?

A: I find it fulfilling to shape the company's culture and daily operations. Working in HR allows me to impact our ethos and work environment significantly. The dynamic nature of my responsibilities and the variety of projects keep me inspired.


Q: Why is SEE a good place for people to join?

A: SEE offers a welcoming culture and numerous opportunities for professional growth. Being part of an SME provides flexibility, closer-knit teams, and the chance to make a real impact. The supportive atmosphere encourages innovative ideas and values individual contributions.


David, Contract Manager


Q: Can you tell us about your role?

A: As a Contract Manager, I oversee the delivery of electrical projects from start to finish, including pricing jobs and ensuring compliance with H&S procedures. My days are varied, involving office work and traveling to client locations for surveys, quotes, and live job visits.


Q: What has been your career highlight at SEE?

A: My highlight is the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust project, where we installed EV charging infrastructure across 11 locations in the Yorkshire and Humber region. I’ve enjoyed my two years at SEE and look forward to more exciting projects.


Hayley, Testing Manager


Q: Please provide an overview of your role.

A: As Testing Manager, I manage a team of engineers delivering compliance services nationwide. Every day is different and typically includes responding to client queries, reviewing engineer workloads and schedules as well as managing invoices and remedial costing. I also manage all of the client reviews and commercial reports. Ultimately I have responsibility for the performance of the department and that’s something I take great pride in! 


Q: What has been your personal highlight since joining SEE?

A.   My time at SEE has been full of personal development. since joining I’ve felt that my personal skills and abilities have been recognised and this has ultimately led me to becoming a Manager.
